Founders Bio
David E. Albert, MD, cardiologist, inventor, and serial entrepreneur, spent 30+ years developing life-saving technologies, including as Chief Scientist of GE Cardiology until 2004. Founder of AliveCor (KardiaMobile ECG), InnovAlarm, and Lifetone, he launched successful startups like Corazonix (sold to Arrhythmia Research) and Data Critical (sold to GE). Holds 80 U.S. patents; Harvard College and Duke Medical School honors.
Origin Story
Founded in 2011 by Dr. David Albert, AliveCor was inspired by smartphones' potential to decentralize diagnostics. After a viral 2010 prototype and FDA clearance in 2012, it evolved into a scalable B2B2C platform partnering with pharma, providers, and insurers. Now in ~40 countries, AliveCor has reached 6.4M+ patients, 350M+ ECGs recorded, 300K+ subscribers, and 250+ peer-reviewed publications.
