About
Koda Health is a tech-enabled care coordination service to improve serious illness care planning. Koda’s solution includes a patient-facing digital advance care planning platform, an engagement engine to increase completion rates, and in-house care navigation to provide 1:1 longitudinal support to a customer’s highest-risk patients and their family members.
Founders Bio
Dr. Tatiana Fofanova, Koda Health’s CEO holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Desh Mohan, Koda’s CEO received his MD from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Katelin Cherry, Koda’s CTO holds a Master’s of Biomedical Engineering from Rice University. They connected through the Texas Medical Center Biodesign Fellowship.
Koda Health spun out of the the Texas Medical Center Biodesign Fellowship, where our company’s co-founders identified problems ailing the healthcare system. This exploration coincided with the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, where they saw firsthand how gaps in Advance Care Planning caused frustrations to patients and their families, providers and their care teams, and insurers.
