About Us

Managing and dividing personal belongings after the loss of a loved one, while downsizing, or during a divorce can be time-intensive, expensive, and, worst of all, emotionally draining. That’s why Nemu is here to help.

Nemu helps users easily catalog all of the items in a household, objectively and equitably divide them, and get pricing and selling support on demand. And, at any point, users can access full documentation of their items and where they ended up for accurate reporting. This helps families and couples focus on what’s most important during difficult life stages: moving forward.

Founders Bio

Sarah Powers is the founder of Nemu, an innovative application to help families manage and divide heirlooms. She is passionate about helping families think through the difficult decision of who-gets-what-and-why after firsthand experience with the tedious task. Prior to Nemu, Sarah received her MBA from The Wharton School and led operations for healthcare companies of varying sizes. Outside of work, Sarah loves to spend time with her partner and young children as well as exploring new places.

Origin Story

A few years ago, Sarah, the founder of Nemu, experienced the loss of her grandmother. Witnessing the emotional and stressful process of dividing inherited property among family members, she realized the need for an easy, efficient, and fair solution. Unable to find one, she started building Nemu. Today, Nemu is available on app stores to help families easily catalog, fairly divide, and conveniently manage personal items so that they have more time to focus on what’s most important during life's most trying times.
