Founders Bio
Built by a team with lived experience, WeWALK advances inclusive mobility. Co-founder Kürşat Ceylan, blind, left a multinational corporate career to build tech for his community. Co-founder Gökhan Meriçliler is a serial social-tech entrepreneur and former head of YGA.
Now a team of over 23, WeWALK partners with global leaders including Imperial College London, RNIB, Lighthouse Guild, and CNIB.
Origin Story
On the way to deliver a speech at the UN, blind co-founder Kürşat Ceylan struck an unseen tree branch while juggling a cane and smartphone—a reminder of the standard cane’s limitations. That moment sparked WeWALK: a community-co-designed Smart Cane, refined through real-world trials and backed by Nesta Impact Investments, APY Ventures, and NEC X, among other global institutions.
