It’s that special time of year again where love is in the air. At the AgeTech Collaborative™ from AARP®, we show our love by building a community of startups, enterprises, investors, testbeds, and business services to help make aging easier for everyone. In this spirit, we wanted to showcase some of our startups helping to build community both physically and virtually. Read on and help us share the love:

Hively

If you play your cards right, you can expect to spend about a third of your life in retirement. But, for many people, an empty calendar that used to be filled working and parenting can leave them feeling a little aimless. Hively has created a vibrant online community of folks across the country entering the next chapter of their lives. With curated resources, bespoke virtual events, and access to exclusive discounts and experiences you won’t find anywhere else, Hively is creating community in the golden years.

HealthHive PBC

Caring for an older adult can be a daunting task for caregivers who have to keep track of health records, care planning and coordination, communications, and more. HealthHive is dedicated to creating a “community of caring” for aging adults and their informal care team so they can focus on providing for their loved one. By integrating providers’ existing workflows and systems, they’re addressing gaps in long-term care management and keeping everyone informed, organized, and involved.

Rosy

43% of women will face sexual health concerns at some point in their lives. While it can be an alienating and challenging experience to go through, you don’t have to do it alone: Rosy is a doctor-recommended mobile application that connects patients and healthcare provers through awareness, education, community, and coaching.  By offering personalized wellness plans, anonymous live virtual events that connect users with each other and sex experts, and a library of curated erotica, it’s no wonder that over 200,000 women trust Rosy to support their sexual health journeys.

LOOP

Isolation and loneliness are common obstacles that older adults and their caregivers must face. LOOP is an online platform dedicated to creating an exciting “virtual village” where older adults can attend online classes, enjoy concerts, start an exercise routine, or even just share a meal. Emotional and mental wellbeing are just as important as physical health, and the companionship older adults can get through LOOP is a valuable tool in the fight against loneliness.

Helpful Village

Most people don’t want to spend their latter years hanging around the house, but it can sometimes be hard to find things to do and people to do them with. Enter Helpful Village, the online platform which supports the Village Movement—a nationwide network of older adult communities dedicated to getting folks out of the house and into their neighborhoods. Village members have access to social and educational events, transportation, in-home assistance, personal support, and even a concierge service. Helpful Village’s technology makes Village management easier than ever before, supporting scores of dynamic communities across the country.
